Have Blogger’s Block?

Do your blog posts seem too broad? Are you having a hard time coming up with great ideas to write about? Take a minute, grab a pen and paper, and brainstorm with these ideas to help you dig deeper and relate easier to your readers.

Write about your personal life. So maybe not what you ate for breakfast or whose birthday it was in the office, but you can start to relate stories of your past. You and your business had to start somewhere so explain how you got to where you are now. Even mistakes make great learning lessons to advise other people of. This can allow your readers to feel a more personal bond with your company.

Find what is current. Check the news. Addressing breaking news related to your industry will make your company seem up to day but do not dive into national tragedy just to get some attention. It will always backfire and make you seem like a jerk.

Ask your clients directly. What is the easiest way to find out someone’s opinion? Ask them! This assures that what you will be writing about will actually interest the audience and allows your business brand to be more personal. It is always better to write even to one specific group that to everyone who may stumble on your blog. If you try to write for everyone, then you please no one.

So when brainstorming, remember to not hold back. Not all your ideas will be perfect but just putting down on paper will help to process how to use the information. Starting is the biggest hurdle. Once you are past that then narrow down ideas and start the blogging!
